Stealing Away

In light of the discussion on purgatory and the afterlife prompted by this recent post, here’s an interesting short film (in two parts) entitled, “Steal Away.”

Directed by Charles McDougall, it was originally part of a 1999 British made-for-TV series called Tube Tales.

Employing at times some interesting and powerful religious imagery, “Steal Away” tells the tale of two young people (played by Hans Matheson and Carmen Ejogo) who steal a brief case full of money. Their victim shoots at them, but they seem to escape unscathed onto an unused London tube platform where they board a mysterious train . . .
